Previously, it was revealed that the manager, Mr. Park, who drove the van that resulted in a fatal car accident for two members of Ladies' Code and a traumatic experience for the remaining three, was sentenced to one year and two months. It appeared that Polaris Entertainment was hoping to appeal this final decision for a shorter prison sentence for Mr. Park.
However,
it appears the prosecution has something else in mind. They were
revealed recently to have appealed for a heavier sentence for Mr. Park
for negligently speeding in dangerous weather conditions, resulting in
two deaths that could have been avoided.
Regarding this development, a rep from Polaris Entertainment disclosed to Newsen on January 26, "We
just heard that the prosecution was going to ask for an appeal. We
likewise sent in an appeal as soon as we heard of the prison sentence.
The
manager's side is attempting to reach an agreement with the bereaved
families. To tell the truth, merely talking about the settlement right
now is difficult. It's a very sensitive issue; therefore, it's been
hard trying to find a way so that neither side gets hurt."
